Step 1 - Set A Goal When fundraising, learn to "ask big"- asking for large donations means recieving large donations! The first step in "asking big" is to set your own goal high.
Step 2 - Develop A Plan Make a list of everybody you plan to ask for support- family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, etc. (many participants use their holiday card list to develop a list of potential sponsors).
There are many different fundraising techniques that participants use to achieve their goals. Many have told us that they find a letter writing campaign extremely easy and successful. With the increase of computer availability, some participants have found it easier to collect pledges online. Go over your list and determine the best way to approach your potential donors.
